This position, is the first time in my life. Low confidence, self-doubt, and anxiety have become my best friends during preparation process. But what I feel very appreciate is that everyone on this team is good at providing unlimited emotional value and helping me learn to be a leader over and over again.

The moment everyone decided to focus graduation project on an unfamiliar indigenous community was truly inspiring. Every field survey made me feel that "Malaysia still has a lot of diverse charm worth being valued". By presenting the life and culture of Temuan people through this exhibition, I not only hope to narrow the distance between diverse societies, but also hope that every space of "Ruang Temuan" can let you and me feel their enthusiasm. Welcome to “Ruang Temuan”.

As the secretary, I initially thought this role was just about recording meetings and writing documents, nothing too special. However, as the project progressed, I realized that being a secretary is far more interesting than I had imagined! For example, when researching Temuan culture, I went from not knowing anything about the uniqueness of their weddings and funerals to being able to describe their wedding rituals and distinctive customs in funerals. It felt like I had opened a whole new world.

What’s even more interesting is that I discovered language is like a "key to unlocking levels." When discussing with the team, I had to simplify complex information and make it easy to understand. When communicating with JAKOA or other organizations, I had to carefully craft formal yet warm documents. This made me realize that as a secretary, language is not just a tool, but a way to involve more people in our process.

This experience has been one I’ve never had before, and the journey has truly been fascinating!

The journey has been challenging, but every breakthrough has taught me a great deal and helped me grow. It has also given me a deeper understanding of the indigenous communities of West Malaysia. Looking back, the boat has already passed through countless mountains; looking ahead, the road may be long, but it is also bright and promising.

The tougher the road, the sweeter the taste of success. 

The exhibition stems from the team's awareness of the need to focus on indigenous cultures. We not only aim to raise awareness of the issue but also emphasize deep internal reflection and understanding.

In the process of exploring Temuan culture, I have broadened my horizons and experienced the unique charm of indigenous cultures. It has been a valuable experience, and overall, it has been a lot of fun!

When we first decided on this indigenous theme, I was quite nervous, as I was unsure how communication would go. However, after conducting field research, I found that the people we met were warm and friendly. I'm very grateful to "Ruang Temuan" for giving me the opportunity to explore a field I wouldn't have normally encountered.

While preparing for the indigenous exhibition, I deeply realized that patterns, colors, and traditional symbols are vital representations of indigenous identity. In my designs, I also incorporated their unique visual elements to ensure they are seen and appreciated by a wider audience.

During my interactions with the indigenous people, I faced challenges with language barriers, making communication difficult at times. However, in comparison to what I’m about to share, these difficulties were insignificant. I was captivated by their kindness and bright smiles. I was moved by their generosity and willingness to join us in flower picking, and I felt warmth when the children called me "kak" and linked their little fingers with mine. I was also deeply touched when one of the children included me in their artwork. I’m thankful to "Ruang Temuan" for giving me the opportunity to meet these kind-hearted and passionate Temuan friends.isitors engaged.

This theme has given me the opportunity to engage with indigenous communities I may never have encountered in my lifetime. Witnessing their simplicity and kindness has truly touched my heart.

I really enjoy conducting fieldwork in their village; the scenery is so beautiful that it inadvertently reminds me of my hometown.

From determining the exhibition theme to its final presentation, though I faced moments of confusion and countless challenges, teamwork and guidance from our teachers allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of indigenous culture, and I have grown a lot throughout the process.

Organizing an exhibition in just four months is no easy task. Not everyone was placed in the most ideal position, but everyone made an effort to work with the team. With our teacher’s silent support, we were able to successfully hold the exhibition. I hope that through this collaboration, we can all play our respective roles, as it is only with dedication that we can do things well. Let's keep up the hard work and encourage each other!

During the preparation of "Ruang Temuan," every step, from the initial concept to its execution, was filled with challenges, especially in terms of language barriers. However, the indigenous friends' warmth and enthusiasm, despite my limited language skills, helped me understand the unique aspects of the Temuan community. This journey has taught me perseverance and dedication, and I hope it will bring more attention to their culture.
